IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television: TV channels and on-demand shows delivered over your internet connection instead of a satellite dish, cable or aerial. You watch it in an app on a Smart TV, streaming stick, phone or TV box.
Prices, payment and activation
Standard (1 screen) costs R399 for 3 months, R599 for 6 months, R799 for 12 months, R1,199 for 24 months. Premium (1 screen) costs R549 for 3 months, R799 for 6 months, R999 for 12 months, R1,399 for 24 months. Family packages for 2 or 3 screens are on the pricing page.
Channels and content
Live channels across news, sport, movies, kids, music and entertainment, plus an on-demand library of movies and full series seasons. Premium has a bigger channel and movie line-up than Standard.
Devices and setup
Android phones and tablets, Fire TV Stick, Android TV and Google TV Smart TVs, and Android TV boxes. Smart TVs that don't run Android (such as Samsung and LG) work with a Fire TV Stick or Android box plugged into HDMI.
Connection, data and buffering
Roughly 3–8 GB per hour — HD at the lower end and 4K at the higher end. On uncapped fibre it's not a concern; on capped LTE or mobile data, choose HD channels and keep an eye on your bundle.
Legality and safety
IPTV as a technology is legal — it's just TV delivered over the internet, and the apps used to watch it are legal to install. What matters is whether the content being streamed is properly licensed. This is general information, not legal advice.
